The Okabena-Ocheda Watershed District received a Clean Water Land and Legacy Grant from the Minnesota Board of Water and Soil Resources in 2023 to build a water quality improvement pond on a stream flowing through the Worthington School District's Crailsheim property. This project will reduce nutrient and sediment pollution to Lake Okabena.
The project was expected to be completed in 2025. It was delayed by the inability to design a structure on-site that would meet the project pollution removal goals and receive a DNR permit. A grant period extension was requested until the end of 2026. Click the logo to see a drawing of the project.
